How will I be notified of the mammogram results?

Since waiting for results can be very stressful, they should be ready as quickly as possible. The double evaluation and potential need to consult a third specialist does however take time. You will therefore typically receive a letter with the results of your early detection breast cancer screening within seven business days after your mammogram appointment. However, sometimes unforeseen delays occur and you should not worry.

Your letter will not list benign changes. This is because the Mammography Screening Program is for the purpose of detecting malignant conditions early. These benign changes will be monitored regularly by the mammography screening every two years.
