Why won't I find out the results of the mammogram directly after the examination?

With the Mammography Screening Program for early detection of breast cancer, two physicians always evaluate your x-rays separately and with great diligence. If there are abnormal findings, they will consult a specialist. That's why you won't find out the results of your examination immediately after the mammogram. You will normally receive a letter with the results within seven business days after the examination.
