Why can't I participate if I’ve had a referred mammogram within the past 12 months?

Having a mammography screening every two years is the best balance between benefit and risks of detecting breast cancer early for women between 50 and 69 years of age. Women in this age group are therefore invited to a regular examination every two years through this quality assured Mammography Screening Program as a "preventive measure". If you've already had a mammogram outside of this program you can participate in the mammography screening again one year after your last mammogram.
